Description
This Asian Cucumber Salad TikTok Recipe features crisp cucumbers tossed in a bold sesame soy dressing with garlic, chili oil, and green onions. It’s a refreshing, crunchy, and flavorful side dish that comes together in just 15 minutes and pairs perfectly with rice bowls, grilled meats, or noodle dishes.
Ingredients
5 cucumbers
3 teaspoons granulated white sugar
2 teaspoons sesame seeds
1 teaspoon crushed garlic
1 tablespoon green onion, chopped
1½ tablespoons soy sauce
3 teaspoons rice vinegar
3 teaspoons Chinese chili oil
1 teaspoon sesame oil
3 teaspoons salt
Instructions
Gather all the ingredients for the Asian cucumber salad.
In a bowl, mix the sugar, sesame seeds, crushed garlic, and chopped green onion.
Stir in the soy sauce, rice vinegar, chili oil, and sesame oil until combined. Set the dressing aside.
Cut both ends of each cucumber. Place the cucumber between two chopsticks to prevent cutting all the way through.
Make diagonal cuts along the cucumber length. Flip it over and make straight cuts on the opposite side to create a spiral shape.
Place the cucumber spirals in a bowl and sprinkle them with salt. Massage gently and let sit for 8–10 minutes.
Rinse the cucumbers under cold water to remove excess salt and drain well.
Pour the prepared dressing over the cucumbers and toss until evenly coated.
Serve immediately or chill for 30–60 minutes to deepen the flavors.
Notes
Always cut cucumbers at an angle to achieve the spiral shape.
Salting the cucumbers helps remove excess moisture and improves their crunch.
Rinse cucumbers well to prevent the salad from becoming overly salty.
Refrigerating the salad for about an hour allows the dressing to soak into the cucumbers for deeper flavor.
