Description

These Crispy Honey Mustard Tofu Tenders are golden, crunchy, and coated in a sweet tangy glaze. A quick, satisfying plant-based recipe perfect for weeknight dinners or healthy snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 block firm tofu (pressed)

  • 3 tbsp honey (or maple syrup for vegan option)

  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu:
Wrap tofu in paper towels and place a heavy object on top. Let sit for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture.

  2. Make the marinade:
In a bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, garlic powder, and olive oil until smooth.

  3. Slice the tofu:
Cut tofu into evenly sized strips (about 1 inch thick).

  4. Marinate:
Place tofu in the marinade and let sit for at least 30 minutes (longer for deeper flavor).

  5. Coat with breadcrumbs:
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Coat each tofu piece in panko breadcrumbs and place on a lined baking sheet.

  6. Bake:
Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

  7. Serve:
Drizzle with extra sauce and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Pressing tofu is key for achieving a crispy texture.

For extra crunch, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end.

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven or air fryer.

Swap honey with maple syrup for a fully vegan version.
