Perfect for the air fryer, oven, or grill, these skewers make a delicious appetizer or an easy weeknight dinner served over rice or vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 2 lbs chicken tenders, thighs, or chicken breast

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Chicken Seasoning

  • 2 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

Garlic Parmesan Butter Sauce

  • 1 stick butter

  • 810 garlic cloves, minced

  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese

  • 1 tbsp hot sauce (optional, more to taste)

  • 2 tsp red pepper flakes

  • ⅓ cup fresh parsley, minced

Instructions

1. Soak the Skewers

Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes before cooking to prevent burning.

2. Season the Chicken

In a small bowl combine paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Cut chicken into 3-inch pieces, then toss in a bowl with olive oil and the seasoning mixture until fully coated.

3. Skewer the Chicken

Thread the seasoned chicken onto skewers, packing the pieces tightly together for juicy results. Trim skewers if needed to fit your air fryer.

4. Make the Garlic Parmesan Sauce

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter with the minced garlic until partially melted.
Whisk in parmesan cheese, hot sauce, red pepper flakes, and parsley until combined.

Set aside ⅓ of the sauce for basting during cooking and reserve the remaining sauce for finishing the skewers.

5. Cook the Chicken (Air Fryer Method)

Preheat air fryer to 400°F.

Place 2–3 skewers in the basket and cook for 5 minutes.

Flip the skewers, baste with sauce, and cook another 2 minutes.

Flip again, baste once more, and cook 5–6 minutes until chicken reaches 165°F internal temperature.

Brush with the reserved clean garlic butter sauce and sprinkle with extra parmesan before serving.

Notes

Oven Method

Preheat oven to 450°F.
Place skewers on a foil-lined baking sheet and cook for 14 minutes, flipping halfway through and basting with butter sauce.

Broil for 2 minutes at the end to create a golden top. Brush with extra garlic butter and parmesan before serving.

Grill Method

Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
Cook skewers 5–6 minutes per side, basting with garlic butter throughout cooking.

Finish with another brush of sauce and parmesan.

Helpful Tips

Pack chicken tightly on skewers to keep it juicy.

Chicken thighs produce extra tender skewers.

Add a squeeze of lemon or lime for brightness.

Serve over rice, salad, or grilled vegetables.
