- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup honey
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp dried lavender buds
- ½ cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream butter and honey until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.
- Warm milk gently, add lavender buds, and steep for 5 minutes. Strain.
- Add infused milk to wet ingredients and mix gently.
- Gradually add dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fill liners ⅔ full and bake for 18–20 minutes.
- Cool in pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
Notes
Use culinary-grade lavender only.
Do not overmix the batter to keep cupcakes light and fluffy.
Lavender flavor strengthens slightly after baking—don’t overdo it.
Optional: top with honey buttercream or a light glaze.
