- 12 Ronzoni lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ground beef (or Italian sausage)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Instructions
- Cook the noodles: Boil Ronzoni lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the meat sauce: In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 15 minutes.
- Mix the ricotta filling: In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, parsley, and ½ cup mozzarella.
- Assemble the lasagna:
- Spread 1 cup of meat sauce at the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Layer 3 noodles over the sauce.
- Spread ⅓ of the ricotta mixture over noodles, then add ¼ of the mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with sauce and mozzarella on top.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm!
