Description
These Bang Bang Chicken Skewers are juicy, tender, and coated in a creamy sweet-and-spicy bang bang sauce. Ready in just 22 minutes, they’re perfect as an appetizer, party food, or easy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
For the Bang Bang Sauce:
- 1¼ cups mayonnaise
- ⅔ cup Thai sweet chili sauce
- 2 teaspoons Sriracha
- 2 tablespoons honey
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the chicken, olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss until evenly coated.
- Thread 4–5 chicken cubes onto each soaked skewer.
- In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey.
- Reserve half of the sauce for serving and brush the remaining sauce over the chicken skewers.
- Arrange skewers in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry at 400°F for 11–12 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking.
- Cook until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Transfer to a serving platter and drizzle with the reserved bang bang sauce.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
Oven Method:
Preheat oven to 400°F. Place skewers on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through. Brush with sauce after baking.
Grill Method:
Grill over medium-high heat for 8–10 minutes per side or until the chicken reaches 165°F. Brush with sauce after grilling.
For extra heat, add additional Sriracha or a pinch of red pepper flakes. Leftover bang bang sauce is delicious on sandwiches, wraps, and roasted vegetables.
