Description
This Blender Salsa Recipe is a quick and easy restaurant-style salsa made with fire-roasted tomatoes, fresh cilantro, lime juice, garlic, and jalapeño. Ready in just 5 minutes, it’s the perfect appetizer for tortilla chips, tacos, burrito bowls, and more.
Ingredients
- 2 (15-ounce) cans fire-roasted diced tomatoes
- 1/2 red onion, roughly chopped
- 3–4 garlic cloves, smashed
- 1 jalapeño, ribs and seeds removed
- 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves
- Juice of 2 limes
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- Pinch cayenne pepper
- 2 large pinches kosher salt (or to taste)
- Large pinch freshly cracked black pepper
Instructions
- Add the fire-roasted tomatoes, onion, garlic, jalapeño, cilantro, lime juice, cumin, cayenne, salt, and pepper to a blender or food processor.
- Blend for about 1 minute, or until the ingredients are finely minced and fully combined.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips or refrigerate for even better flavor.
Notes
For a thicker salsa, drain some of the liquid from the canned tomatoes before blending.
For a chunkier texture, pulse the blender a few times instead of blending continuously.
Let the salsa chill for 24 hours for the best flavor.
Add extra jalapeño, serrano peppers, or cayenne for more heat.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
If the salsa tastes overly acidic, add a small pinch of sugar to balance the flavor.
