Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cups cold water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 juicy limes, washed well
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- Ice, for serving
Instructions
- In a large pitcher, combine the cold water and sugar. Stir until dissolved and chill until ready to use.
- Cut the ends off the limes and slice each lime into eighths.
- Add half of the limes and half of the sugar-water mixture to a blender.
- Pulse 5 times only. Do not overblend.
- Strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher and discard the pulp.
- Repeat with the remaining limes and sugar-water mixture.
- Stir in the sweetened condensed milk just before serving.
- Add plenty of ice, stir well, and serve immediately.
Notes
For the best flavor, serve immediately after making.
Overblending the limes can make the drink bitter.
Thin-skinned limes tend to be juicier and produce the best results.
Adjust the sugar or condensed milk to suit your taste.
Always wash and scrub the limes thoroughly since part of the peel is blended.
