Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 recommended)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 large eggs
- ¾ cup milk
- ⅓ cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
For the glaze:
- ½ cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp mustard
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a baking dish or line a sheet pan.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, eggs, milk, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and parsley.
- Mix gently until just combined—don’t overwork the meat.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared dish.
- In a small bowl, mix glaze ingredients until smooth.
- Spread half of the glaze over the meatloaf.
- Bake for 40 minutes.
- Remove from oven, spread remaining glaze on top, and return to oven.
- Bake for another 15–20 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Don’t overmix the meat mixture—it can make the meatloaf dense.
Letting the meatloaf rest helps it hold together when slicing.
You can substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
