Description
Creamy Pepperoncini Chicken Skillet is a rich, tangy one-pan dinner with tender chicken simmered in a velvety cream sauce—perfect for quick, flavor-packed meals.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup sliced pepperoncini peppers
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then cook for about 5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add sliced onion and garlic. Cook for 3 minutes until softened.
- Add pepperoncini peppers and cook for 2 minutes.
- Pour in chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the pan.
- Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Return chicken to the skillet and simmer for 10 minutes, until fully cooked and sauce thickens.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra heat, add red pepper flakes.
- Swap heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter version.
- Great served over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes.
- Taste before adding extra salt—pepperoncini can be naturally salty.
