  • Author: Omar
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Crispy Asian BBQ Brussels Sprouts are perfectly roasted until golden, then tossed in a sticky, sweet-savory glaze with ginger, BBQ sauce, and a hint of spice—an easy, flavor-packed side dish.

Ingredients

Scale

Brussels Sprouts:

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, halved and trimmed
  • 1 tbsp olive or avocado oil
  • Salt to taste

Sauce:

  • ½ tbsp olive or avocado oil
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 2 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • 1 tbsp coconut aminos (or soy sauce)
  • ½ tbsp rice vinegar
  • Salt to taste
  • Pinch Korean-style red pepper (optional)

Optional Toppings:

  • Chopped cilantro
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Toss Brussels sprouts with oil and salt until evenly coated.
  2. Air Fryer Method:
Cook at 380°F for 6 minutes, toss, then cook another 5–7 minutes until crispy.

    Oven Method:
Bake at 400°F for 18–22 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.

  3. While cooking, prepare the sauce by mixing BBQ sauce, coconut aminos, rice vinegar, salt, and red pepper in a bowl.
  4. Heat oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add grated ginger and cook for 1 minute, stirring frequently.
  5. Add the sauce mixture and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 4–5 minutes until thickened.
  6. Toss cooked Brussels sprouts in the sauce until fully coated.
  7. Return to air fryer (400°F for 2–3 minutes) or oven (400°F for 2–3 minutes) to caramelize.
  8. Garnish with cilantro and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Avoid overcrowding for maximum crispiness.
  • Fresh Brussels sprouts work best for texture.
  • Adjust spice level by adding or skipping red pepper.
  • Sauce thickens as it cools—this is normal.
