Ingredients
2 large heads broccoli, chopped into bite-sized florets
1 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
3 large eggs
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Wash the broccoli and cut it into bite-sized florets. Pat thoroughly dry with paper towels.
3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined.
4. In a separate bowl, mix the Italian breadcrumbs, grated sharp cheddar cheese, freshly grated Parmesan cheese, and garlic powder.
5. Dip each broccoli floret into the egg mixture, making sure it is completely coated. Allow any excess egg to drip off.
6. Transfer the broccoli to the cheese and breadcrumb mixture. Sprinkle the coating over each floret and gently press it into the broccoli to help it stick.
7. Arrange the coated broccoli florets in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each piece.
8. Bake for 18–25 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender and the cheesy breadcrumb coating is golden brown and crispy.
9. Remove from the oven and let cool for 2 minutes. Serve immediately with ranch dressing or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
Notes
• Dry the broccoli thoroughly before coating to help the breadcrumbs stick and become crispy.
• Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best flavor and texture.
• Cut broccoli florets into similar sizes to ensure even cooking.
• Press the breadcrumb mixture firmly onto each floret for better coverage.
• Avoid overcrowding the baking sheet. Use two baking sheets if necessary.
• For extra crunch, substitute panko breadcrumbs mixed with Italian seasoning.
• For a spicy variation, add ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.
• Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days.
• Reheat in the oven at 375°F for 8–10 minutes or in an air fryer at 350°F for 3–5 minutes.
• Serve immediately for the crispiest texture.
