Description

Crispy Malibu Chicken Recipe with juicy breaded chicken, savory ham, melty Swiss cheese, and a creamy mustard sauce. This easy comfort-food dinner is perfect for busy weeknights and family meals.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken

  • 4 boneless chicken breasts, pounded thin
  • 4 slices ham
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Crispy Coating

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil or butter

For the Creamy Mustard Sauce

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Pound chicken breasts to ¼–½ inch thickness and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Prepare three shallow bowls with flour, beaten eggs, and Panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip into eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken for 3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Transfer chicken to the prepared baking dish. Top each piece with ham and Swiss cheese.
  7. Bake for 15–20 minutes until chicken is fully cooked and cheese is melted.
  8. In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, honey, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  9. Serve crispy chicken warm with creamy mustard sauce drizzled over the top. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

Use thin chicken breasts for faster and more even cooking.

Panko breadcrumbs create the crispiest texture.

Gruyère or Provolone cheese can replace Swiss cheese.

Pair with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
