Description
This Crock Pot Chicken Taco Meat is an easy 3-ingredient slow cooker recipe that delivers tender, juicy shredded chicken packed with taco flavor. Perfect for tacos, burritos, rice bowls, salads, and meal prep.

- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1/3 cup butter
Instructions
- Lightly spray the inside of a small crock pot with cooking spray if desired.
- Place the chicken breasts in the crock pot.
- Sprinkle the taco seasoning evenly over the chicken.
- Slice the butter into pats and place them on top of the seasoned chicken.
- Cover and cook on Low for 5–7 hours or High for 3–4 hours.
- If possible, let the chicken rest in the crock pot with the heat off for 30–45 minutes.
- Use two forks to shred the chicken directly in the crock pot.
- Stir into the cooking juices and serve in tacos, burritos, bowls, salads, or wraps.
Notes
Chicken thighs can be substituted for chicken breasts.
For extra heat, add diced green chiles, Rotel, jalapeños, or chili powder.
This recipe doubles easily; simply layer the ingredients twice.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
Great for tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, taquitos, and rice bowls.
