Description
Golden Banana Pepper Dip is a warm, creamy, cheesy appetizer packed with tangy banana peppers, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and savory seasonings. Perfect for parties, game day, holidays, or easy snacking.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (12 oz) banana peppers, drained and chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup green onions, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Add the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and shredded cheddar cheese to a large mixing bowl. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Stir in the drained and chopped banana peppers, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste and mix until everything is evenly combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread it into an even layer.
- Bake for about 30 minutes, or until hot, golden, and bubbling around the edges.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for about 5 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve warm with crackers, toasted bread, tortilla chips, or fresh vegetables.
Notes
- Drain the banana peppers very well to prevent the dip from becoming watery.
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened for a smoother texture.
- Greek yogurt can replace the sour cream for a lighter option.
- For extra heat, add chopped jalapeños, red pepper flakes, or hot sauce.
- Freshly shredded cheddar melts more smoothly than pre-shredded cheese.
- Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days.
