Description

Creamy, bold, and comforting, this One Pot Cajun Chicken Alfredo Orzo combines tender Cajun-spiced chicken with rich Alfredo sauce and perfectly cooked orzo—all in one pot. It’s a quick, flavor-packed dinner perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 chicken breasts, diced
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Optional: spinach or bell peppers
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add diced chicken and season with Cajun seasoning, salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook until golden and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, melt butter and sauté garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add orzo and toast for 1–2 minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook until orzo is tender, stirring occasionally.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until the sauce becomes creamy.
  6. Return chicken to the pot and mix well. Add optional vegetables if desired.
  7. Simmer for 2–3 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Adjust Cajun seasoning based on your spice preference.
  • Add a splash of broth or cream if the sauce thickens too much.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan melts smoother and enhances flavor.
  • Great for meal prep—just reheat with a little extra cream.
