Description
Texas Roadhouse Seasoned Rice is a buttery, savory side dish loaded with smoky spices and rich flavor. This easy restaurant-style rice pairs perfectly with steak, chicken, seafood, or roasted vegetables and comes together in just 35 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups white rice
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 4 cups chicken broth
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the rice and sauté for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently until lightly golden.
- Add the diced onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened and translucent.
- Stir in garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, soy sauce, and parsley until the rice is evenly coated.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Let cook uncovered for 5 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 12–15 minutes or until the liquid is absorbed and the rice is tender.
- Fluff with a fork, season with salt and pepper to taste, and garnish with fresh parsley before serving warm.
Notes
Use gluten-free tamari instead of soy sauce for a gluten-free version.
Long-grain white rice works best for fluffy texture.
Cover the rice while simmering to help it cook evenly.
Adjust cayenne pepper for more or less heat.
Leftovers store well in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
