Description

This Viral Tuna Salad is a bold, creamy, and crunchy twist on a classic. Made with tender tuna, crisp apples, jalapeño chips, and a zesty wasabi mayo dressing, it’s quick, flavorful, and perfect for easy lunches or light dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup mayonnaise (plus more as desired)
  • 2 teaspoons white wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons wasabi paste
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 3 tablespoons finely chopped red onion
  • 3 tablespoons finely chopped dill pickles
  • ⅓ cup crispy jalapeño chips, crushed
  • ⅓ cup finely chopped apple
  • ½ cup canned corn kernels, drained
  • ½ cup frozen peas, thawed
  • 10 ounces tuna packed in olive oil, drained
  • Sea salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, white wine vinegar, lemon juice, wasabi paste, and Italian seasoning until smooth.
  2. Add red onion, dill pickles, crushed jalapeño chips, chopped apple, corn, and peas. Stir until well combined.
  3. Gently fold in the drained tuna, keeping some texture.
  4. Taste and season with sea salt and pepper as needed.
  5. Serve immediately with extra pickles, crackers, or tortilla chips.

Notes

Use tuna in water for a lighter version, or olive oil for richer flavor.

Swap jalapeño chips with tortilla chips or spicy potato chips.

Replace wasabi with Dijon mustard or horseradish for a different heat.

Try grapes or dried cranberries instead of apple for added sweetness.

Add Greek yogurt for a creamier texture.

Adjust seasoning and spice level to your taste.
